Development Director

Evren Arat

Evren Arat is the Development Director of Sahaba Initiative and is a skilled and experienced development professional with a proven track record of helping non-profits achieve sustainable growth. With over eight years of experience in the non-profit field, Evren is passionate about making a positive impact in his community and committed to increasing service access and delivery for vulnerable populations.

Evren’s expertise includes fundraising, strategic planning, grant writing and management, communications, community outreach, case management, educational instruction, and public speaking. He is responsible for developing strong relationships with key stakeholders, including community members, institutional and corporate partners, governmental organizations, chambers of commerce, and service organizations. Evren also works diligently to empower program participants to pursue greater autonomy and self-determination.

Prior to joining Sahaba Initiative, Evren served as Development Director of Designated Exceptional Services for Independence (DESI), a non-profit organization that provides Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) to young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (ID/DD). He also provided support to the missions of Jovenes Inc, a non-profit that serves unhoused and formerly unhoused Transition Age Youth (TAY), and AltaMed Health Services, providing project coordination support for the Institute for Health Equity. Evren’s commitment to community service has been recognized by the City and County of Los Angeles.
